Simply stated, the process of Occultation is nothing more than cutting off the soil from sunlight.  In doing so, warmth and moisture are trapped underneath the Silage Tarp.  This then in turn brings the weed seeds out of dormancy.  Many, if not all of the weed seeds will start to sprout, but then suffocate and die without air and sunlight. Composition is as follows: LLFPE – Linear Low-Density Polyethylene LDPE – Low Density Polyethylene EBA Copolymer Regrained Polymer (LDPE, LLDPE, EBA….) UV Stabilizer Silage Tarps need to be in place for not less than 3-4 weeks during the summer.  Keeping the ground covered with a Silage Tarp for several more weeks is necessary during the winter months.
